SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL CHURCH

It is Summer Time...…..During this time of year, it is important to remember your local church. One of the easiest ways you can support Northside Baptist Church is with your continued faithful attendance. When you are in town, be in church and encourage others in your family and your friends and neighbors to be in church as well. Secondly, use this season to grow in your faith by reading God's Word, studying what He has laid on your heart and spending time with Him in prayer. Also, remember the financial needs of our congregation. Continue to be faithful with your returning of the tithe and the fiving of the offerings. It is normal, for most churches, to experience a lull or decrease in giving during the summer months. Here at Northside, we have never seen a large drop but our income does go down during the summer. All we ask is that you continue to be faithful to give as God has commanded and give as He has called you to give. He will take care of the rest. One of the main ways you can support your church family is by prayer. Prayer is something that everyone can do. You do not have to be wealthy or young or energetic before you can pray. Prayer is simply talking with God. Sharing your heart concerns with the one who loves you most and knows you and your situation best. When you are praying for your church, there are a number of different ways you can pray. Pray that we will have a heart for the Lord. pray that our loves and our desires will be the same as His. Pray for your Pastor. Pray that Brother Hal will be safe and healthy, that he will know God's will and be willing to follow God's leading. Pray for our deacons and teachers and officers. Pray that our church will have a heart for evangelism, that we will see souls saved and see God at work in the lives of those around us. Pray that disciples will be made and grown through the ministry of NSBC. You can pray for the church's financial situation. Ask God to continue to provide all the resources that the church needs to accomplish the ministry that He has for us. Right now, our church is raising money to replace two of our air conditioners. One in our fellowship hall and the other in our two story children/youth building. Together that comes to around $25,000.00. That may seem like a lot, but we have seen God do far more than that with our roof last year. God will provide. Please pray that the need be met. Pray for God's spiritual protection for our church. Satan doesn't like exciting, spirit filled churches and will do anything he can to attack us. God, however, is mighty and will give protection. Stand in the gap for our church and watch what God will do. The story is told about an elderly church member who felt she couldn't do anything for the Lord anymore. She was basically bed ridden. She couldn't attend services, couldn't give much, didn't see neighbors or friend to share her faith. She could, however pray. Her Pastor gave her a list of 50 lost individuals to pray for and over the next 6 months she prayed for them daily. For six months she prayed and after that time she learned that not just one, or two, or three of her list had accepted Christ, rather she found all 50 of them had accepted Christ. Could God use you that way? Could you be a prayer warrior for Northside Baptist Church?
