I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH FAITH TO BE AN ATHEIST!

There is a book by that title, written by a Christian Pastor, Frank Turek. The book is based on the concept that all of us live our lives believing in something. You cannot live life apart from a belief in something or someone. It can be as simple as believing in yourself, your mind, your reason, your upbringing, your culture. It might be believing in a religious philosophy. Some people would say they don’t believe in anything, but in reality, that cannot be true. Something undergirds their lives, their choices, their decisions. Many in our culture will say they are atheists; they do not believe there is a God. Dr. Turek proposes that you have to have more faith to be an atheist than you do to be a Christian. Atheists have to believe in at least six absurd concepts to be consistent in their atheism.

  1.   They have to believe that everything came from nothing.

  2.   They have to believe that order came from chaos.

  3.   They have to believe that life came from non-life.

  4.   They have to believe that the personal came from nonpersonal.

  5.   They have to believe that reason came from non-reason.

  6.   They have to believe that morality came from matter.

God sent His Son, Jesus, to earth at Christmas time, long ago, to live and die and live again to pay the penalty for all of our sin.
